Great Guitars! Amazing Service!

Karen Jennings

Visited Gap Guitars to upgrade my son's 1st classical guitar as he was moving on to grade 2. I wasn't really sure on what I was looking for but I need not have worried, John was great he talked us through all the different styles and models, he took time to observe my sons guitar technique and even gave us some tips! Really delighted with the guitar we came away with; my son hasn't spotted practising...result!!!

I thank you so much for your outstanding service and customer care. I am thrilled with the guitar, it’s so lively it just sings. Thanks also for the case and the set of strings. Your shop is the only guitar shop I will ever recommend from now on. When I need something you will be the first I call.

Again the guitar is outstanding. Thank you so much.

A very satisfied customer

'Had a great visit to GapGuitars. John was incredibly helpful and informative and I came away a very satisfied customer. The pupil who my guitar was for is one very happy chappy and he is playing it in his first concert tonight - 'Gran Vals' if you're interested!!'

'Upon arrival at the Northamptonshire Gap Guitar Studio I was greeted warmly by John. He was clearly excited about showing me the guitar we had been conversing about for nearly a year!

I was quickly ushered into the studio which can only be described as remarkable with its astounding acoustics and plenty of natural light. The studio also has a very “relaxed” feel to it as Johns own collection of guitars, certificates, awards and pictures are showcased. For me, (an aspiring player) it was an excellent example of what can be achieved through dedication and hard work.

Whilst admiring the large collection of classical guitars displayed I was handed a Juan Hernandez ‘Torres’ model to play. The guitar was a pleasure to play as the notes are clearly defined and the tone has the warm and creamy sound to it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an upgrade.

As much as I enjoyed playing the Torres model   I was eager to be acquainted with my made to order Alexander Gee guitar. When I opened the case ( Hiscox Pro II. A perfect case for someone as clumsy as me) I was amazed by the appearance of the instrument. It spoke volumes straight away. The guitar has so much character and beauty with its layered Sitka Spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Alex took all of needs into account, as I requested that I wanted a contrast between the top and the sides. Even now I find myself opening the case just to look at the maple bindings or the subtle glitter of the linings.

Over the past few weeks I slowly began to realise that Alex had created the perfect guitar for me as it has enabled me to take a different approach to my studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire. It’s so easy to play and control therefore my playing has changed and improved almost beyond recognition. I’m not a powerful player but the balance and clarity that runs across the fretboard allows me to communicate expression through pieces with ease from the renaissance period right up to the 21st century.

The Alex gee guitar has given me great confidence and enjoyment when I play. I would recommend every guitarist to have a Gee guitar in their collection. I would also recommend buying your new guitar through John at Gapguitars as the service provided is exceptional!'

I’ve now had the Juan Hernandez ‘Professor’ for a month and it is coming along nicely.  It has a good warm and distinctive tone with plenty of volume.  A bonus for me is the low action and slim neck which increase the playability without any hand strain.

I used the Altimira in three concerts over Christmas with good feedback from those present regarding the tone and amplified sound.

Can I also say how much I enjoyed my visit to your showroom.  All the guitars I played were good instruments and obviously carefully selected with some really first class guitars at the top of your range all at very good prices.  I particularly appreciated your calm unpressurised approach and the fact that you took time to ensure I got what was right for me.
